FAQ

Common questions. Setup, hotkeys, and troubleshooting are on the Download page.

What is Cursight?

A Windows overlay for on-screen questions. A blue capture box follows your cursor; press F1 to analyze the region and read a short answer—without opening a chat tab.

How much does it cost?

Cursight is free to download. Vision usage runs through your Cursight account once billing and credits are active.

Do I need a Cursight account?

Yes. Create an account on the website, then sign in from the Windows app. Hosted access is provisioned automatically.

What is a Cursight hosted account?

Create an account on the Account page. Cursight provisions hosted access in the background — no manual keys. Vision requests route through our gateway once billing and credits are active (M3b).

Where do I start after downloading?

Follow Getting started on the Download page—install, sign in, first capture, and the SmartScreen steps if Windows warns you.

Which browsers and sites work best?

Chrome, Edge, Brave, or Opera with the address bar visible. Cursight auto-routes for TestOut, LabSim, and similar quiz URLs. Keep the capture box over the question and all numbered choices.

Is my data stored in the cloud?

No cloud locker by default. Captures and answer history stay on this PC—in your Windows user profile, not in the folder where you installed Cursight. Screenshots are sent for vision analysis only when you press capture. Optional profile sync is off by default.

How do updates work?

Cursight checks cur-sight.com on startup. When a newer version ships, you get a tray notification with Download update and release notes before you download.

Why does Windows warn about an unsigned app?

The installer is not code-signed yet. See the security steps on the Download page. You can verify the SHA-256 hash there after download.

How are quiz answers formatted?

Guided mode returns numbered choices like 1. full option text when the page lists options. The overlay shows the answer—not a chat wall.

Can I report a wrong answer?

Yes. Use Wrong answer, Bad layout, or Looks good on the answer panel or in history. Feedback stays on your PC for local learning—not cloud model training.

What do the Model settings mean?

Auto picks the best tier per capture (default). Expert favors accuracy on harder questions. Fast favors speed. Cheapest minimizes usage when you are experimenting.

Is Cursight affiliated with TestOut, CompTIA, or LabSim?

No. Cursight is independent—not affiliated with TestOut, CompTIA, LabSim, or xAI.
